Bolzano Hiking Trip

Have I told you before, that Bolzano is surrounded by mountains? So it is like heaven for people who like to go hiking because there are a lot of walking and hiking path with beautiful view of the mountains. So here you go, my experiences of hiking at Bolzano, plus the captured view.

#1 Latemar, Labyrinth Path

My first hiking trip, ever! And I love it! At the end of October, we went from Karersee (Lago di Carezza), passed through Latemar, the Labyrinth path, then ended up at Karrerpass. 7.9 km in total, with the maximum height of 1,901 m.

The frozen Lago di Carezza. Beautiful isn’t it? ;) I will definitely go there again on summer. We went there by bus, took less than one hour from the city center.

Latemar, one of the mountain in the Dolomites. That’s where we’re going!

Summer Holiday: Szia Budapest!

After a successful trip to Holland, we decided to test our endurance using the same method of travelling abroad.. using bus, but with a longer distance. So… in the middle of June, off we go to Budapest, one of the most beautiful cities in Europe!

Although it’s double the distance of Nancy-Amsterdam (Nancy-Budapest ±1000 km), the fare is actually almost the same, even less: €75 round-trip. We departed from Nancy at 7 PM, had to change bus twice (in Strasbourg and Vienna), then.. 16 hours later we arrived at Budapest. Szia Budapest!

We spent 4 nights at 11th Hour Cinema Hostel for only €40 per person. It’s a very great hostel, only a few minutes walk from the city center. This is my first time staying in a hostel (in Europe) for less than €10 per night (€9 on weekday, €13 on weekend), wow, cheap!

The city is basically split into 2 main parts by the Danube River: Buda and Pest. We stayed in the Pest side, but not very far from the river, so we can easily crossed to Buda side through the renowned Chain Bridge or the Elizabeth Bridge.

Budapest is also very famous for its public baths, unfortunately we didn’t have the chance to try it. But it’s okay, because the city itself is very beautiful, especially the night view, and made our holiday perfect! So here you go, some captured moments in Budapest…

Spring Holiday: Holland!

During the spring holiday, in the beginning of May to be exact, me and my nancéiens friend, Rona, decided to go to Holland. Of course to visit the tulips ^^ since they’re all blooming beautifully. It was a short trip, we spent only 4 days and 3 nights there. But in that short trip I felt very refreshed. It’s important because we always need a happy mind and soul to welcome a series of (unfortunate) exams, don’t we? ;p

If in the previous holidays we always took the train, or even flight, this time we go… by bus! The cheapest way to travel, less comfortable of course, but it’s still bearable (though we had to sit for 10 hours in the bus). We used Eurolines, paid only €80 for a round-trip Nancy-Amsterdam. Actually the ticket can be cheaper if only we travel in non-peak season, but it means we won’t see any tulips around ^^;

Besides travelling around Amsterdam (and satisfying our curiosity about the infamous ‘red light district’ ;p), having a taste of Indonesian food in Holland, we also visited Keukenhof, the flower garden (only opened from 24 March to 20 May). Enjoy the pictures!

It’s time for the story behind. So sorry, have to switch back to Indonesian language mode… ;)

Spring Holiday: Riquewihr & Kaysersberg

I’m actually feeling very guilty because I’ve just write about this now >.<. This day-trip was initiated by my fellow LCT student, Casey, in… wait let me check first… the end of April. Aw, it almost feels like last year ^^; At that time I had no class anymore, but still had to deal with projects and exam. Anyhoo.. it’s springtime, so.. time to have some fun! :)

We *four of us: me, Casey, Shashi, and Tzuyi* went to the Riquewihr and Kaysersberg, small towns (or villages?) in the Alsace region. It took only 2 hours driving from Nancy to Riquewihr, and around 15 minutes from Riquewihr to Kaysersberg.

The main tourist attraction is the town itself, because the houses there have a unique and colorful design. You’ll feel like you’re still in middle ages. And also, we went few days after Easter, so there were still Easter decorations all over the town, so cute…

Pictures? Here you go :)

Winter Holiday: Captured Moments

Hola! Buongiorno! ^^

One thing that I like from France is… there are so many holidays! :) ) This time I had two weeks of holiday, which is *maybe* the winter holiday. Later there will be another 3 weeks of holiday in the end of April, which is the spring holiday. And holiday means… spending quite a lot of money for trip, sigh -_-. But the view and the experiences I got are totally worth it ^^.

In this 9 days trip I’ve visited 6 cities, in 3 countries *Vatican City is a country, rite?*, which are: Barcelona, Rome, Vatican City, Pisa, Florence (Firenze), and Venice (Venezia). Here are the captured moments…
